From harnessing AI and data science to enhance decision-making and innovation to leveraging blockchain for secure and transparent transactions, the session will emphasize the potential of these cutting-edge technologies in shaping Nepal’s digital landscape. Additionally, it will address the importance of cyber and data security in safeguarding the nation’s digital assets and building trust. The session will explore the concept of smart cities and transportation, exploring the transformative possibilities of integrating technology into urban planning and mobility solutions. Furthermore, it will highlight the role of FinTech in promoting financial inclusion and driving economic growth. The session will also focus on the crucial aspects of IT education, digital skills development, and leveraging the digital economy to address unemployment challenges in Nepal. Objectives
The objective of the “Leveraging Information Technology, Data Science, and AI for Nepal’s Socio-Economic Growth and Digital Transformation” symposium at NRN-GKC3 is to facilitate an inclusive and informed discussion on leveraging Information Technology, Digital Technology, AI, blockchain, data science, cyber security, data security, Smart City, Smart Transportation, FinTech, IT education, Digital Economy, and Solving unemployment to drive Nepal’s progress. The symposium aims to foster a deeper understanding of the potential of these advancements and their application in various sectors. By bringing together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders, the objective is to identify opportunities, challenges, and best practices and to formulate strategies for harnessing digital transformation to create a sustainable, inclusive, and thriving future for Nepal.
Technological Landscape of Nepal:
Over the past decade, Nepal has witnessed significant progress in developing IT infrastructure and capabilities. The country has made notable strides in digital connectivity, expanding internet access and mobile penetration, and establishing a robust IT ecosystem. The government has recognized the transformative potential of IT and digital technologies in driving economic growth, improving public services, and enhancing the overall quality of life. Initiatives such as the Digital Nepal Framework, National ICT Policy, and Smart City concepts have been introduced to harness technology for sustainable development. Additionally, there has been a growing emphasis on IT education and skilling programs to nurture a competent workforce capable of capitalizing on emerging opportunities. However, despite these advancements, challenges remain, including the need to address the digital divide, enhance cybersecurity measures, and leverage digital technologies to tackle unemployment and foster inclusive growth. Against this backdrop, the “Digital Transformation: Empowering Nepal’s Future” symposium aims to build on the progress made and foster collaboration and innovation in leveraging IT for the holistic development of Nepal.
